Meet our Founder

Elise Kwenin is an educator with 13 years of education experience in Kansas City. During her time in the classroom, she taught 4th grade, 5th grade math, and Algebra 1. She is very skilled in data analysis and targeting specific skills to help students grow. By using data weekly, she created differentiated small groups for 90+ students ranging from enrichment activities for her advanced students to specialized tutoring for students who were struggling with a specific skill. 

Elise has always presented classroom scores in the top percentile at each of her particular schools.  Elise accomplished a 44% increase with her students in 5th Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) test scores compared to the scores of the 5th grade students the year prior. In 2016, Elise’s students scored 22% higher than the Missouri state average on the 5th grade math MAP test. Elise's Algebra I students also scored 10% higher than the state average on their End of Course Assessment in 2021.

She is certified to teach all subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Writing) for grades 1-6 and is also certified to teach math for grades 6-9. With these skills and the strong desire to work with students one on one, Elise founded Advanced Care Academy.
